30 days without sugar. Impossible? Never. Difficult? Yes.

This is not just a diet change. This is a life change. And it all starts by saying no to sugar.

A study in the Scientific Report has said that sugar is as addictive as cocaine. How crazy is that? It is because sugar releases dopamine in a similar way. Dopamine is responsible for pleasure in our brain.

Society is swamped with ads for sugar everywhere. They tell you it is part of a balanced breakfast. It brings families together. It is the substance of happiness. This is all rubbish. It neglects the fact that sugar is super addictive and super bad for the body and mind.

My Starting Point

I was in a bad way. I was overweight. I was unhappy. I was eating all of the time.

From desserts to biscuits to cakes to sauce. Lots of sauce.

The mission was simple: Eat whole unprocessed foods and no added sugars. Some natural sugars from fruits were still included. I would consume no more than 50 grams of sugar per day.

The FDA recommends no more than 90 grams a day. But most of us consume way more than 160 to 200 grams a day. An average bottle of Coke has around 55 grams of sugar in it. Sugar is everywhere.

The 8 Benefits I Experienced

Benefit 1: Energy Levels Skyrocketed

I am able to train much harder than ever and have minimal energy slumps during the day.

Before I would feel super tired at points during the day. Sometimes I would even need to take a 10 minute nap to recoup. That is gone now.

Benefit 2: Improved Sleep

When I was smashing loads of sugar I would wake up a lot more in the night. I could not get to sleep as well.

Now my sleep efficiency has improved. There are loads of studies to back this up. When you cut out sugar your sleep improves.

Benefit 3: Lost 3kg of Weight

This was a big one I am really happy about.

Within 10 days the water weight had gone. My body started to feel leaner. It started to feel tighter.

You know what it is like when you smash loads of sugar and biscuits and ice cream and you sit there and feel like a marshmallow? Even when you wake up the next day? No good. Leaner and tighter now.

Sugar cleared up my skin. I had breakouts before. Overall it makes your skin feel and look tighter. You do not look as tired.

This was a wild one. I picked up a fever or flu and usually these symptoms would last for at least three to four days.

The symptoms were gone within 24 hours. I was back to training within 48 hours. This is the fastest I have ever cleared any disease ever.

How Much Weight Can You Actually Lose?

Based on my experience and similar stories:

Week 1: 1-2kg (mostly water weight from reduced inflammation)

Week 2: 0.5-1kg (fat loss begins)

Week 3: 0.5-1kg (consistent fat loss)

Week 4: 0.5-1kg (total transformation visible)

Total: 3-5kg in one month is realistic when you completely cut sugar and eat whole foods.

Tips to Make It Easier

Get rid of all sugary things from the house. Out of sight out of mind.

Drink more water. Make sure you are hydrated.

Eat fruits. They taste sweet naturally. They have lots of good fiber and good stuff for your body.

Make sure you have a diet rich in protein and complex carbohydrates. These will keep you satiated and reduce cravings.

Practice mindful eating. Track your food so you become more aware of what you are eating.

Get good sleep. When you get good quality sleep it reduces your impulses. You are less likely to binge eat.
